A FOUR-year-old boy who was killed after a mountain bike crashed into a lamp post has been hailed as an “incredible” boy when his school released a photo of the “always smiling” student. .
Lennox Railton-Craggs was understood to be a passenger on a bicycle when the horrific incident happened Sunday afternoon in a peaceful village.
Police were called to the village of Eldon Lane near Bishop Auckland in County Durham around 1pm.
Lennox was treated for his serious injuries at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Sadly, he could not be saved and was declared dead on arrival.
In a heartbreaking Facebook tribute from Prince Bis Bishop Community Primary School in County Durham, the boy was described as a “joy”
“As we’re sure many of you know, Lennox Railton-Craggs sadly passed away yesterday,” the post read.
“Lennox is a joy. He is a happy boy, always smiling to the staff and other children.

“He loves playing with dinosaurs and in the water but what he likes to do is play outside.
“He’s a great friend and can be seen regularly holding another kid’s hand and he’ll go get tissues for anyone who feels uncomfortable.
“We are truly heartbroken by the news.
“Lennox will miss all of the staff at the school dearly, especially those who were privileged enough to teach and support him.
“Of course, we’ve talked to Lennox’s family and, as always, will do what we can to support them through the unimaginable pain they’re going through.
“Since so many children heard the news before going to school today, we talked to them about the bereaved and we are supporting them.”
Lennox is a delight. He is such a happy boy, always smiling to the staff and other children.
The school also shared a photo of Lennox with a robot model he made in daycare.
“He’s very proud of it and rightfully so,” the post added.
“This is how we will always remember him.”
Durham Police are investigating the incident.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police are investigating following the death of a four-year-old boy in Bishop Auckland.
“It is believed the child was a passenger on a mountain bike when it collided with a lamp post shortly after 1pm yesterday (Sunday, January 23) in the Eldon Lane area.
“He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, but sadly he died on arrival.”
Officers are asking anyone with information to call Durham police on 101 quoting incident number 196 January 23.
