PE instructor, 23, who ‘had intercourse’ with pupil, 18, was reported by ‘alarmed’ pupil who noticed them in Premier Inn room collectively

A PE instructor who allegedly had intercourse with an 18-year-old pupil was reported by an alarmed pupil after seeing them in a resort room, a panel heard.

Former headteacher David Nicholls drove to the Premier Inn to seek out Melissa Tweedie, then 23, and was met by six pupils who had been satisfied she was in a room with the lad.

He finally reached Miss Tweedie over the cellphone after attending to the resort in Glasgow, when she insisted she was at dwelling and didn’t ship her location when requested.

However the subsequent day the pupil met Mr Nicholls at Glennifer Excessive Faculty in Paisley, Renfrewshire, and mentioned they’d intercourse.

Miss Tweedie is alleged to have partied with pupils at their faculty promenade at SWG3 nightclub in Glasgow earlier than going again with them to the resort in June 2017.

Mr Nicholls advised the panel: “She appeared completely fantastic and compos mentis at SWG3.

“I later discovered from senior workers that they thought she was getting over aware of a sure senior pupil.

“At 1:45am, one of many senior boys phoned me.

“The boy who phoned appeared alarmed and mentioned that Miss Tweedie was within the resort.

“He appeared fairly anxious.

“After I received into the lobby I discovered six pupils, together with the Head Boy and Deputy Head Lady, they appeared anxious and mentioned {that a} member of workers was within the resort.

“Resort workers requested the age of the folks concerned and after they ascertained that they had been of authorized age they mentioned it was not their downside.”

He mentioned that she broke down in tears when she was advised she was suspended, pending investigation.

Miss Tweedie, who now lives in Dubai working as a yoga teacher, faces being struck off the register by the Normal Educating Council for Scotland following the allegations.

Police Scotland had been alerted to the incident and investigated it on the time.

They discovered that no criminality had taken place.
