Peaky Blinders: BBC release trailer for final series

Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy commented on the iconic aesthetic of Tommy Shelby’s character ahead of the show’s new series and discussed his “crazy” fans.

As fans of the Birmingham-based gang drama eagerly await the return of the sixth and final series, the 45-year-old actor said there’s an element to his character that he doesn’t. want to go back.

While Tommy’s side and back haircut has exploded in popularity since the hit movie in 2013, the Irish actor says he’s not a fan of the hairstyle.

The actor told Woman and Home: “People asked to cut Peaky. It’s crazy how people like it – it just doesn’t grow for me. ”

The actor even cracked down on “stylish and fashionable people” obsessed with haircuts in the past, previously adding that shaving his head got him into trouble on the street.

“That’s when you cut your hair, people start screaming at you,” he said. “When I don’t cut my hair, I can ride the bus quite comfortably.”

However, despite the Peaky Blinders star’s thoughts on the look, fans of the BBC hit series have given the show’s style a life of its own.

David Beckham is said to love the show’s look so much that he has approached the performers to discuss a range of Peaky Blinders-inspired clothing.

Steven Knight, the show’s creator, explains: “David is a huge fan, so is his son, and they approached us and said they wanted to do a series of Peaky Blinders capsules.

“At the end of series four, it became very clear around the world that something was happening. That’s when we started reviewing the full range of products.”

With filming slowed down by Covid measures, fans are getting ready to welcome the long-awaited season six after months of delays.

But the late Helen McCrory, who played matriarch Polly Gray in the BBC drama, will be miserably absent from the series after she lost her own battle to cancer last year.

Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle has revealed about filming a tribute to Helen during the show’s upcoming final season.

Sophie, 33, who plays Ada Shelby in the crime drama, said filming the sixth season without Helen “didn’t feel right” as she detailed the tribute to actress Harry Potter.

“It was a horror for all of us,” she told Radio Times.

“We’ve all been on the same boat for ten years and if she wasn’t there, it all feels bad and wrong.”

Sophie continued: “So in tribute, it’s all about being real, it’s emotional. It was really a moment to think about her and what she’s been through.

“And this show wouldn’t be possible without her, I truly believe that. I really believe she’s been the foundation of Peaky and elevates it to more than just the script, so it’s a huge loss and it’s just a very sad thing. ”

Peaky Blinders season six hits theaters on Sunday, February 27.
