McCrory died of breast cancer in April 2021 when she was just 52 years old.

She died at her home in London on April 16, and her husband announced her death on Twitter.

Damian Lewis announced that she passed away “peacefully at home, surrounded by waves of love from friends and family”.

She kept her diagnosis a secret, and very little was known about her illness before her death.
