Peaky Blinders ends Sunday night.

But the question on everyone’s lips is will Tommy Shelby die? And if he does, who or what will kill him?

Loyal fans of the BBC series have been reinvigorated to see their hero again with rumors that a Peaky Blinders movie is in the works and scheduled for release in 2023.

Creator Steven Knight has previously hinted that the BBC drama could continue in a different form with or without Cillian Murphy’s main character.

“The story of Small Heath and the Shelby family will continue,” he insisted. “There may be worlds that are part of the world Peaky is about someone else, but he [Tommy] is the center around which everything revolves. “

So does this mean Tommy is warming up to pave the way for a new generation of Peaky Blinders?

Here are all the questions that need to be answered when the final episode of Peaky Blinders airs on Sunday, April 3.

Is Tommy Shelby dead?

Tommy was told he had a brain tumor and had only 18 months to live

Throughout season six, we heard the haunting voice of Aunt Polly, the late actress Helen McCrory, who passed away from cancer last year.

“There will be a war and one of you will die, but which one, I cannot say,” warned Polly from the given.

There’s no shortage of potential suspects who want Tommy dead, with Polly’s son Michael Gray saying multiple times that he plans to kill the Birmingham gang boss.

Viewers saw Tommy trap Michael and imprison him in America. Michael is also seeking revenge for the death of his mother – who was killed in a fight at Peakys, viewers discovered, because Polly had to be dropped from the show.

Other figures with motives include Boston gangster Jack Nelson, Gina’s uncle, Michael’s wife, Nazi leader Oswald Mosely and his bride Diana Mitford – should they find out Tommy was trying trying to trap them all the time.

Tommy and Lizzie lost their young daughter in season six – then he cheated on her

Tommy’s wife, Lizzie, may also be a suspect after learning her husband slept with Diana.

The gypsy Barwell, whom Tommy shot to avenge the death of his daughter Ruby, may want him dead more after he murdered several of their family members in episode four. Ruby dies of tuberculosis, but Tommy believes it is the result of a gypsy curse involving the blue sapphire that causes his wife Grace to be killed in season three.

A new character that only appeared in episode four is Duke, Tommy’s long-lost son, who was rejected by his father. So will he be able to find revenge in the finale?

Or was Tommy’s death of natural causes, as the doctors diagnosed him with a tumor on his brain that was related to tuberculosis and told him he had only 18 months to live.

The only option left is for Tommy to take his own life. We’ve seen him point a gun to his head several times since Peaky Blinders aired in 2013. One time he even pulled the trigger, but the gun didn’t fire.

Will Michael succeed in overthrowing Tommy?

Will Michael and Gina take over the family business?

Michael, known as the brains of the family, has been in jail all season six so far.

But at the end of episode 5, he is told that he will be released if he agrees to kill his uncle Tommy Shelby.

After starting a new life in America with his wife Gina, he plans to expand his family’s drug business in the US.

Him and Gina proposed to scale up in exchange for several million pounds a year as they would take all the risks.

When Michael made his proposal during a family meeting, Tommy scuttled his plan.

But now is Michael’s chance to finally get what he wants – or will he be overtaken twice by Gina’s scheming Uncle Jack?

What will happen to drug addict Arthur Shelby?

Will Arthur be able to give up his drug addiction and live a normal life?

Things were not easy for Arthur Shelby, Tommy’s brother.

Since his return from the trenches of World War I, viewers have seen him grapple with mental health issues and outbreaks of violence.

In recent episodes, Arthur has become addicted to drugs after his estranged wife Linda leaves him.

Despite being cleaned up several times, Arthur can’t seem to break the habit and is losing his nerve, which is affecting the family business.

Aunt Polly is no longer here to check on him. The only thing that kept him going was his promise to see his wife Linda again.

Tommy tells him that he is in contact with Linda and can make it happen as long as he quits drugs. But what will Arthur do when he finds out that Linda is only going with him while Tommy is paying her?
