Pedal pub rolls over in the street leaving two people fighting for their lives

A pedal bar rolled over in the street, injuring at least 15 people and leaving two in “critical” condition.

Pedal pubs are foot-operated, portable, open-air bars that allow people to enjoy their drinks while they ride

However, this open-air bar in Atlanta, Georgia, reportedly speeded as it approached an intersection, failed to turn the corner and rolled over, injuring 15 people.

According to CBS 46, the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the city’s downtown area.

Authorities said they believe the open-air bar was trying to roll over when it toppled and fell.

Two people were seriously injured, three others suffered “serious injuries,” and ten people suffered minor injuries, according to the Atlanta Fire and Rescue.

Officials have admitted they don’t know how many people were on board the moving alcoholic bar at the time of the accident.

Firefighters were forced to use an ambulance bus, something normally reserved for mass casualty events, to transport ten of the injured to local hospitals.

Battalion Chief Jason McLain said, “The Atlanta Fire Department has a mobile ambulance that we call the MAV-1…we used it to transport 10, and Grady facilitated the transport of the other 5 patients.”

The intersection was also closed after the accident as officers tended to the injured before they were taken to four different hospitals.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which is still under investigation.

A witness told Fox5Atlanta that members of the public rushed to the aid of those involved in the crash, righting the bus and helping those below.

She told the outlet: “I ran onto the balcony and saw it being turned sideways.

“And immediately the public came running out of their cars to pick it up again and rescued people who were underneath because I think they were stuck.

“People were clearly injured but the public was so impressed that they just intervened so quickly that I saw this man on the road directing traffic away from the accident. It was wonderful.”
