Pedestrian hit by car and seriously injured in St Leonards

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

A group of pedestrians and a car were involved in the incident, which took place on Blackman Avenue, St. Leonards.

On Tuesday afternoon, January 3, a gray Jaguar drove up and down the road ahead of the accident and then made off towards the traffic lights on Battle Road.

One of the pedestrians suffered serious injuries that required hospital treatment. He has since been released.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and released on conditional bail pending investigations.

Now the police are looking for witnesses.

Officials investigating the collision would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have taken dashcam footage of the car driving in the area at the time of the collision.
