Pedestrian (late teens) dies after traffic accident in Limerick

A male pedestrian has died after a road accident in Co Limerick this morning.

The man, in his late teens, was treated at the scene in Cappamore and taken by ambulance to Limerick University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Just before 4am, gardaí and emergency services were alerted following an incident involving a car and pedestrian on a local road in Dromsally, near Cappamore.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators were asked to examine the crime scene and the local coroner was notified. The road is currently closed with local diversions in place.

The investigating Gardaí are asking witnesses to get in touch with them.
