Disgraced entertainer and convicted child molester Rolf Harris is currently relying on “24-hour care” at home following his recent cancer diagnosis.
It was reported in many national media that the 92-year-old “cannot speak” and can only be “tube-fed”.
It is alleged that the pedophile’s health took a turn for the worse earlier this calendar year when his beloved pet poodle died suddenly.
His 64-year-old wife, Alwen Hughes, is also under 24-hour nurse care due to her ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
That’s what the Australian’s neighbor, Portia Wooderson, said Daily Telegraph: “Only caregivers and nurses who look after him 24/7 come and go.
“I was told he couldn’t eat anymore.”
Private investigator and author William Merritt also confirmed the news.
He told that Daily Mail: “He is battling throat cancer and gargles when he speaks. It’s hard to understand him, but he’s still the entertainer.
“As soon as one of two people enters the room, he turns back into a big kid. He’s an artistic guy and tries to play on command even when he’s not feeling well.”
Harris’ long career in entertainment, music and television came to an abrupt end in March 2013 after being arrested for historic child sex crimes between the 1960s and 1990s.
His arrest was part of the Operation Yewtree saga, which questioned famous names over the aforementioned decades following a series of allegations and reports of their conduct.
This came to light almost 18 months after the death of disgraced television personality Jimmy Savile, who avoided any consequences despite numerous reports to authorities and establishments where he either worked or visited.
Harris initially denied any wrongdoing and was performing across the country until August of that year after being arrested a second time in the 1980s and charged with nine counts of indecent assault.
His trial began nine months later in May 2014 and in June of that year he was found guilty on all 12 counts of indecent assault.
One of the crimes against the now 92-year-old was that he had a sexual relationship with a friend of his daughter’s, in which he admitted in a letter to the girl’s father in 1997 that his actions were born out of a “feeling of love and friendship.” ‘.
He was jailed for five months, years and nine months for his actions in July 2014, with Mr Justice Sweeney telling the sex offender: “You have shown absolutely no remorse for your crimes.
“Your reputation is in tatters.
“You have been robbed of your honor.
“But you have no one to blame but yourself.”
Harris, who lives in Bray, Berkshire, was released in May 2017 and had one of his convictions overturned in November of that year.
However, authorities were contacted in February 2019 after the then 88-year-old was spotted on the grounds of a primary school in Maidenhead.
He avoided being arrested and nothing came of the incident.
