PENNEYS is set to move into an even larger store in Dundrum – with a huge investment of almost 15 million euros.
The popular retailer plans to invest a total of 14.8 million euros in the new store, with a 6,000 square meter “premium retail space” and a 64% increase in the existing store.
Work will begin on the new store in Dundrum Town Center this fall, which will span the second and third floors of the popular shopping destination.
The increased floor space is set to allow for a much wider expansion of fashion and other products in the store.
This includes women’s ‘men’ and children’s wear, as well as the hugely popular extended home and beauty parts.
The popular Irish retailer plans to open a new store early next summer and is expected to create some jobs.
And Dundrum shoppers will be pleased to know that the existing Penneys store will remain open in the mall during construction.
Penneys head of ROI and NI Damien O’Neill says scaling will mean a “much wider” product selection.

“As one of Ireland’s premier shopping destinations, Dundrum is a really important location for Penneys and very popular with our customers,” he said.
“Increasing the store size means we can offer a wider selection of fashion, beauty and home goods.”
O’Neill added: “We have big plans and great ideas for how we bring our unique in-store design to life for Dundrum customers and we look forward to opening next year. early next summer.”
Meanwhile, Hammerson Group Management, Ireland CEO, Connor Owens, talks about the excitement of working with Penneys on the new store.

The expansion of Penneys Dundrum Town Center reflects the company’s continued investment in Ireland.
Penneys bosses announced last November plans to invest more than 250 million euros in their Irish business over the next 10 years.
ONE new store 43,000 square meters will open at The Square, Tallaght in the fall of 2022 and will bring the total number of Penneys stores in Ireland to 37.
A new 5550,000 sq ft distribution center in Newbridge, Co Kildare recently received a planning permit, which is slated to open in early 2024.
The Penney’s Carlow store is moving to a larger building and will reopen this summer.
A €60 million investment in the redevelopment and expansion of the Patrick Street store in Cork has also been given the green light.
