How do I apply for Living Assistance if I receive Pension Credit?

The average pension credit is worth more than £3,500 a year and for those pensioners who may be eligible but have yet to apply, there is still time to do so and qualify for the additional £324 payment.

This is because Pension Credit entitlements can be backdated up to three months provided eligibility requirements are met during that time.

To ensure a successful retrospective application falls within the waiting period for the £324 additional living allowance, pensioners are urged to apply for the pension credit as soon as possible and no later than 18 December.

An online pension credit calculator is available to help retirees check if they are likely to be eligible and get an estimate of what they may receive.
