Thanks to a Google hack uncovered on TikTok, searching for things on your phone has never been easier.
If you’re tired of traditional word typing, there’s actually another way.
Instead, Google has a special method that allows you to write what you want to search by sliding your finger.
The world’s most popular search engine then enters the words and letters for you.
You can only use it when you are on Google’s search site.
Google’s full description of this is: “You can write your search terms with your finger instead of typing the words on the keyboard.
“As you type, your handwritten text will be converted to words in the search box.”
TikTok tech fan Milad revealed the simple trick to his 2.4 million followers.
That’s how it works.
Go to the Google Search home page.
Tap the three-line menu icon in the top left.
Next open settings.
Scroll down to the bit titled “Handwrite” and select Enable.
Then go all the way down and strike Save on computer.
Now you can write words for Google search with your finger.
It’s not necessarily faster than regular typing, but it’s a lot more fun, so why not give it a try?
Also note that when you turn on the handwriting feature, a bar appears at the bottom of your screen in Google Search.
The main button in the middle lets you generate a room with a tap.
And next to it is a cross that allows you to reset the spacebar.
You can press the g icon to hide the bar at any time.
It’s also worth noting that Handwrite isn’t available on iPhones and iPads in the separate Google app – that bit is only kept for Android – but you can still use it in your browser.
