Have you ever wondered how many text messages you’ve sent? It might surprise you.
WhatsApp has a hidden page that you can check to see the true extent of your texting habit.
It counts your messages on phone number (and even on all devices).
And it breaks them down into sent and received so you can see exactly how you’re using the app.
You will almost certainly have significantly more messages received as the balance is usually heavily tipped by group chats.
But it’s entirely possible that you still sent more than you received, making you a serious series writer.
Checking the function is very easy and only takes a few seconds.
Here’s how to see how many WhatsApp texts you’ve sent
First, make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp on iOS for iPhone or on Android.
Now launch the app and tap Settings in the corner.
Next, tap Storage and Data, which is about halfway down the page.
After that, you need to look for the Network section and tap on Network Usage.
At the very top you should see a section called Messages.
And there are two counters: Sent and Received.
All the messages you have sent and received over the years are counted here.
You can also see how much data has been used and break down that network usage across media and calls.
You can see how long you’ve spent on WhatsApp calls and how many incoming and outgoing calls your account has made.
Try comparing your stats with your friends or family to see who has the highest text count.
