People are just now realizing that you can get a groundbreaking Ring Doorbell alarm that could save Christmas

Don’t let a lost package spoil your Christmas.
Your Ring Doorbell has a clever trick called packet notifications that’s a must-have during the holiday season.
Package notifications show you when a package has been left near your device.
You create a special zone, and if there’s anything left over there, you’ll get an alert.
This way you can make sure you get a package as quickly as possible – and reduce the risk of gift theft ruining the holiday season.
The feature is available for the following Amazon Ring doorbells: Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), Video Doorbell 2, Video Doorbell 3, Video Doorbell 3 Plus, Video Doorbell 4, and Video Doorbell Pro 2.

How to enable package notifications
First, make sure you’ve updated your Ring app to the latest version.
If you follow our guide and still can’t see package notifications, they may not have rolled out to your account yet.
So check back later to see if you can use it.
You also need to make sure you have motion detection enabled.
Now open your Ring app and tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines).
Next, go to Devices and select the compatible Ring Doorbell.
Tap Motion Settings > Smart Notifications and look for the Package section.
Select the video icon if you want to turn on and record your package deliveries.
For notifications, select the notification icon and then customize your package zone by following the prompts.
You can also adjust your packet sensitivity for packet alerts here.
This only affects the device you select. If you want package notifications on other devices, you’ll need to set those up as well.
You can adjust your parcel zone at any time.
Remember that package notifications are not always correct.
“Package notifications work best with medium to large shipping boxes,” explains Amazon.
“Envelopes, tubes, boxes and grocery deliveries may not be recognized.”
Amazon added: “Deliveries must be left and dropped off in your parcel zone to be recognised.

“Packets are most reliably detected when they are within 2 meters of your Ring device.”
You can check all package events on your ring timeline – which is great if you missed a notification.
