People are noticing the ‘life-changing’ Sky TV trick right now – and say they felt ‘like an idiot’ for not knowing it

SKY TV fans just discovered that there is an amazing trick to skip commercials faster.

The hack works for recorded programs, shows you’ve started from the beginning, or anytime you’re behind on a live show.

As any TV lover will know in this situation, you can usually skip the ads by fast forwarding as fast as you can.

But as a TikToker Garethrb found there is actually a much faster way.

And all thanks to the Sky remote control and the power of voice.

It turns out that among the many clever things you can tell your Sky remote, skipping a certain amount is one of them.

That means you can ask the device to skip ahead three or four minutes, which is about as long as the advert is running.

While it’s unlikely you’ll pick up when the show resumes, it’s a lot easier than just fast-forwarding through the entire pause.

Voice is available on remote controls for Sky Q, Sky Glass and the company’s latest TV technology, Sky Stream.

“How could I not know that?” said the TikToker.

“Here I am, fast forwarding the commercial 30 times like a fucking idiot.

“You have no idea how much you just changed my life.”

Although one commenter expressed a key concern.

“But how do you know to skip 4 minutes?” they replied.

“Surely every channel has different timeframes for advertising? I would be afraid that I would end up missing the next part.”

The TikToker replied and said, “I’m sure and say 3.”
