Ahead of Manchester City’s potential title decision against Liverpool, Pep Guardiola was reportedly offered £10million-a-year to become Brazil’s new manager after the 2022 World Cup

That Manchester City Boss was claimed to have been offered a deal worth £10m a year to replace the current Selecao boss Tite after World Championship in Qatar later this year. Guardiola has had previously expressed his desire to move into international footballwith Brazil believed to be his dream pickalthough he was quick to turn off the reports.

Asked specifically about the legendary Brazil side, Guardiola added: “It’s a fantastic national team. Brazil is always a strong contender or the favourite. It always has been and always will be.”

For now, though, he’s fully focused on the Citizens’ potential title decider as the champions are just a point above Jürgen Klopp ‘s Liverpool in the Premier League table with eight games remaining. Reflecting on his success at City so far in a somewhat poignant moment amid speculation about his possible departure, Guardiola said: “I would say incredible things about my team. It is not my intention to praise myself.

“My team is the best. The way we lose points is the way we are good. How you benefit the sport of winning and losing. Many years in this country, how difficult it is is.

“When people say City are the best, they want to lay a net. I’m happy to admit that my players are exceptional. I don’t want to say who they are for the staff. Doing good things for many years. It doesn’t lie remembering that we are ahead of others because they are incredible.

“That’s what I personally need to improve. Come on, let’s try to beat them and what we can do to get better. I’m happy to be here for Sunday’s game. I’m falling asleep like crazy Baby before that I’m a bit upset with the premier league because they set the game when Tiger Woods is back [playing at the Masters ]!”
