Peter Kay is back: tickets to the Irish comedian’s gig go on sale this morning

Tickets for comedian Peter Kay’s first tour in 12 years go on sale at 10am this morning.

he Bolton, a Lancashire-born comedian has announced a new tour that will take him to Ireland in the new year.

The 49-year-old stand-up has announced her return to the stage after a 12-year hiatus during a commercial break during the premiere of her series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! On Sunday night.

“It’s good to be back to what I love most, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time when people need a laugh, it’s now,” he said.

Demand for pre-sale tickets has dampened some apps and websites as they go on sale during the week, and some have been offered for sale on resale sites for a few hundred euros.

The Bafta Award-winning star of hit TV shows including Car Share and Phoenix Nights will take the stage at the 3Arena in Dublin on April 6 and 7, 2023. Tickets for these shows go on sale Saturday morning. from 10am and demand is expected to be ferocious.

He will also perform at the SSE Arena in Belfast on February 23 and 24.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10am on Ticketmaster for €48.05 for performances in Dublin.

He said tickets will cost the same as last time he toured.

They can be difficult to catch up as the comedian’s official website also suffered short-term problems due to increased online traffic following the big announcement.

A poster for the event featured the Bolton native holding a sign that read “Better late than never” and described his concert tickets as the “ideal Christmas present”.

This will be Kay’s first live tour since 2010, when he scored the Guinness World Record for the best-selling record of all time, performing to more than 1.2 million people.

He returned to the stage in August 2021 for two special charity events to raise money for Laura Nuttall, then 20 years old with a malignant brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme.

There was also a brief comeback in January 2021 when he appeared on BBC Radio 2 to chat with Cat Deeley – who was working after Graham Norton left the station – about his love of music, mixtape and musical Mamma Mia.

He also made a surprise appearance at the charity screening of the series Car Share in 2018.

Kay previously expressed deep regret at having to cancel her 2017 tour due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.

“I sincerely apologize.

Kay will begin her new tour on December 2 at the Manchester AO Arena before visiting venues including Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow and Dublin.
