“You have in Donald Trump the person who probably most embodies the contrast between the Sermon on the Mount, the person of Jesus and the teachings of Jesus,” he told MSNBC Tuesday. “And this guy is a rock star and has been for years.”
“And when we got to 2020, it was so obvious what he was,” Wehner said. “Yet they stayed, and that is a tremendous indictment against them” and against the evangelical movement as a whole.
