Phillip Schofield has reached out to friend and co-host Holly Willoughby after she was forced to miss This Morning on Monday, after testing positive for Covid-19.
The TV presenter was confirmed to have tested positive ahead of Dancing On Ice on Sunday and has now been replaced on This Morning by regular presenter Josie Gibson.
After Lorraine Kelly commented that Holly had “got the virus,” Phil and Josie took the time to wish her well at the start of the latest show.
Phil, who had Covid-19 last month and was also forced to withdraw from both shows, told his friend to come back as soon as possible.

While they didn’t speak to her, they did comment that she would be watching the show live from home.
Phillip said: “Well, we were completely convinced by Holly and me that having tried everything, we could be immune.
“So she’s tested positive and she’s at home monitoring, and it’s the weirdest thing in the world when you can’t do that and you’re watching it at home.

“So Holly will get well soon. Come back as quickly as possible, but I’m in very, very safe hands. So have a good day, and we miss you.”
It’s likely Holly won’t be participating for the rest of this week, after she was forced to miss the Dancing On Ice semi-final at the last minute on Sunday night.
Phil revealed that it was several hours before the live show news.
As Phillip opened the semi-finals of the ITV series, he said: “As you can see Holly isn’t here tonight.
“Just a few hours ago we found out that she tested positive for Covid. I know how it feels to watch this show at home – it’s really weird. Holly, get well soon. come again, lots of love.”
ITV also shared the news earlier in the day, with too short notice to draft replacing the presenter alongside Phil.

“We expect Holly to return in the Live Finals on Ice.”

This morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV.
