INSTAGRAM not working for hundreds of angry users around the world.

According to Down Detector, Brits are among those affected by the photo-sharing app and social networking service.

By 6:35 p.m. that evening, the site had recorded 1,438 reports from users who were unable to use the popular site.

Of all the reports received, 60 percent were feed issues and 38 percent were app issues.

One user wrote on the Down Detector website: “It doesn’t show other people’s stories like they all just disappeared.”

Over on Twitter, a user said: “Looks like certain features are down, stories aren’t updating and posts aren’t showing. Or maybe it’s a new ALGO.”

A third complained: “I come to Twitter almost every 2-3 months after #instagramdown it happens!”

Another person simply wrote, “Instagram is down.”

Down Detector only tracks failures by aggregating status reports from a variety of sources – including user-submitted bugs – on its platform.

This means the outages may be affecting more people than reported.
