This is the man who went back to open work at an Eddie Rocket outlet less than 72 hours after a court heard he exposed his penis to a woman and her children.

Hmed Waqas, who used to live at Cross Gun Quay, Phibsboro, Dublin, was convicted on Tuesday after sneaking into the woman’s flat and showing her his penis.

Although Waqas, 37, made headlines after his conviction, he was back at it on Friday frying burgers in front of the public.

He wanted to know how we found him and asked us not to report on his conviction when we reached out to him for comment.

The court heard the fast-food worker gain entry to his neighbor’s home by claiming his water wasn’t working, but once inside he lifted his T-shirt to show the shocked woman and her children his show penis.

Waqas, who was believed to be at moderate risk of reoffending, walked out of court this week on a four-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty to a Dublin address on December 14, 2018 with intent to commit an offence, to have committed trespassing. He has no criminal record.

While Waqas, who the court heard showed a lack of insight and understanding of his own actions, had originally been charged with a sex offense, the DPP dropped those charges on the basis of a guilty plea.

Waqas no longer lives in the apartment complex where he committed the crime. His place of work is Rocket’s Diner in the Jervis Street Shopping Center, where he continued to work despite his conviction.

He spoke to this reporter who tracked him down; “Where are you from? I don’t want you to write a story, man. Who sent you here? How did you find out I work here?”

He was told that his conviction was public knowledge.

He was asked if he could explain why he did what he did and he replied, “Forgive me everything. god forgive me It just happens, that’s all.”

When asked if he wanted to say that it was an isolated case and that he was no longer a danger, he replied: “Yes. Never, never, ever again, man.”

It is unclear whether his colleagues are aware of his conviction. Rocket Restaurants has been contacted for comment on the matter, but they did not respond as of press time.

During the court hearing, Craig Borwick told prosecutor Fiona McGowan BL that on the date in question, Ahmed knocked on his neighbor’s door, told her he had no water and asked to use her water.

Garda Borwick said the woman let him into her flat and he brought a bucket into her kitchen which he placed in the sink. They talked while their two children played on the floor.

Waqas’ penis then emerged from his clothing and he apologized before moving his t-shirt so she could see his genitals.

In her victim statement, which was read in court, the woman said she could not sleep after the incident, was scared and still is scared. She said she used to take her children to a common area in the apartment building but would not do so now for fear of what might happen.

At his sentencing hearing on Friday, Judge Melanie Greally said the violation of the woman’s home and exposure to her children were aggravating factors

Judge Greally sentenced Ahmed to four months in prison, which she suspended entirely on strict conditions including that he contact the probation service for 12 months and follow all his instructions.

She also ordered Ahmed to have no contact with the woman or any member of her family for 10 years.
