Following the Queen’s death at the age of 96, The Argus looks back on the many visits she has made to Sussex.
The Queen has visited our country since the early 1930s, when she was a young girl, and has always received a warm welcome.
From Brighton Racecourse to visiting a fish market in Newhaven, she has completed many royal tours of the region.
She opened several Sussex landmarks, such as the reopening of Gatwick Airport in 1958 and Brighton Marina in 1979.
One of her last visits was in 2013 when she was touring Sussex a year after her Diamond Jubilee.
To commemorate their visits, we have put together a picture gallery here.
Her Majesty was the longest-living and longest-reigning monarch in British history and celebrated her platinum anniversary this year.
