Piers Morgan: Air pollution in London is much worse than in Sussex

The TalkTV presenter, who grew up in Sussex and still has a second home in the county, has blamed living in one of Britain’s worst-polluted areas for making him unwell.

The 57-year-old spends a lot of time at his home in Kensington.

He tweeted: “After three years of thinking I had developed worsening hay fever, I’ve finally solved the mystery: air pollution.

“When the air quality is very bad, like last week, I feel uncomfortable.”

The channel, which used to present Good Morning Britain, appealed to its 8.3million Twitter followers and asked if anyone else had experienced the same thing.

Camilla Kerslake, classical singer, responded to Piers, saying her breathing and skin problems went away “when we were in Sussex during lockdown and returned as soon as we got back to London”.

Piers agreed with the singer, replying: “Fascinating. Yes, I never have problems in Sussex.”
