Piers Morgan attacked Alec Baldwin after the actor claimed he was ‘untouchable’ over the deadly shooting on the set of Rust.
The 56-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to react to Baldwin’s claim that he was covered in the film contract for the film.
Alec has said that the contract left him financially incapacitated following the death of a cinematographer he had filmed.
Piers said the position was “disgusting” as he hit the actor for making this assumption.
Baldwin gave his most detailed account of the death of Halyna Hutchins, 42, after a gun he was holding erupted during filming last October.
Baldwin has been named in a number of lawsuits, including one brought by Hutchins’ widower, seeking damages for death.
In a legal filing, the actor said he was not responsible for her death, as he had been assured that the gun he was holding did not contain any live ammunition.
Baldwin, who also starred in the West as Rust also produced it, argued he was exonerated because he was not responsible for ammunition or gun safety checks on set.
Records say Hutchins told the actor how to locate the gun.

“She pointed Baldwin holding the gun higher, to a point where it was pointing towards her,” he said.
“She was examining the screen carefully, then looking at Baldwin, and then back again, as she gave these instructions. In giving and following these instructions, Hutchins and Baldwin shared an important, core belief: that the gun was ‘cold’ and devoid of live ammunition. “
Baldwin then asked Hutchins if she wanted him to retract the hammer, as the script instructed, and she said yes, the filing said.
“Baldwin then pulled the hammer back, but not far enough to actually fire the gun,” he said. “When Baldwin let go of the hammer, the gun went off.”

The actor’s lawyers have filed an arbitration lawsuit, in which they argue that his settlement protects him from any financial liability.
His attorney, Luke Nikas, claims a clause that Baldwin, 63, and his firm signed in the contract means he is not financially responsible for legal fees or claims arising from death.
The filing seeks to enforce the provision.
The document names Rust Movie Productions and Ryan Smith, one of the other producers, as respondents in the lawsuit.
“Someone is to blame for cracking the wheel that directly led to this horrific tragedy, and it was someone other than Baldwin,” Nikas wrote in the lawsuit, describing Mr. Baldwin as a The victim trusted someone else to do their job.
“This is a rare case where systems fail and someone is held legally responsible for the tragic consequences. That person is not Alec Baldwin.”
The filing also details how Baldwin’s relationship with Matt, Hutchins’ husband, had deteriorated.
