Piers Morgan revealed his old workplace when he made his first appearance as a presenter on Australia’s morning television channel.
The 56-year-old replaced Karl Stefanovic as he hosted Channel Nine’s Today with co-host Allison Langdon.
Viewers were surprised by his appearance as he was unannounced and began by reading the weather before mocking his close friend Stefanovic.
He said: “G’day, Australia. Let’s start with the weather forecast. Contrary to everything Australians have told me about the weather in Sydney, it’s raining.
“And, in fact, it’s been raining every minute since I arrived in Australia and it’s going to rain every minute for the rest of the week that I’m in Australia.
“But the good news for Ally is that she finally has someone by her side who’s smarter, handsome, younger, [has a] better voice and a proven track record of breaking ratings records on breakfast television.

“You know, Ally? I love it here. This feels natural to me.
“Karl who? It’s showbiz. [He] made a fatal strategic mistake by letting me sit in his chair. And it just immediately feels natural. “
After his debut, he took to Instagram to claim that GMB did not allow him to express his opinion.
He wrote: “Great to be back on breakfast TV again.. even if I had to fly 10,000 miles to find a morning show that would allow me to voice my opinion! Thanks for the help! yes ne @karlstefanovic_ @allisonlangdon – you guys are an action class.”
Piers infamously ignored GMB after a heated argument with co-star Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle.
He returned to present the rest of the show, but later dropped out after claiming that ITV bosses asked him to apologize for his remarks.

Recalling the events leading up to his departure from GMB, Piers admitted last year that he had “a bad sleepless night” after hosting the show on Monday, March 8.
At the time of Tuesday’s show, Piers said he was “tired and agitated” – and ended up throwing a tantrum when co-star Alex “attacked him very personally.”
After much speculation, last September, Piers announced that he had joined TalkTV as part of a global deal in the UK, US and Australia.
