Piers Morgan has rekindled his war of words with rival Dan Walker after the Channel 5 news presenter shared a clip of his interview with RMT union boss Mick Lynch.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, took time on Wednesday to, in his own words, “blow people away” following his private discussion with union leadership.
Piers challenged him with a profile picture that looked exactly like him, in which he introduced himself as Thunderbirds baddie The Hood.
But Twitter users protested, and Piers took part in several back-and-forths during the day.
Then it was Dan, 45, who retweeted his own video of a discussion he had with Mick – and appeared to have dug up his old nemesis in doing so.
Alongside the video, the former BBC presenter wrote: “We live in an age of chaos, head-to-head interviews & RMTs, Mick Lynch, had a few of them.
“If you treat people with respect, you can still ask tough questions and get the right answers allowing your audience to think for themselves.”
He went on to explain how he chose to repeat the interview as “someone texted me and said ‘why do all of you magazine guys always go out to pick a fight with every guest?'”
That comment prompted a reaction from Piers, who is currently showing his own show on TalkTV.
He quoted tweeted the post and wrote: “Who is more into world television than Desperate Dan.. world’s most boring interviewer.”
No one backed down, Dan almost immediately responded with smiling emoji faces and said, “Why is it ‘boring’ to let someone actually talk rather than scream constantly?”
And Piers continued his efforts to concede his opponent, replying: “Dude, I had to leave GMB because it was too exciting/dangerous.
“You have to leave the BBC because even by their standards you’re a mood swinger. But your flashy lectures on how to do interviews are so funny, I’ll give it a go. you that.”
As followers of both journalists continued to argue to come up with their own opinions, Dan was still unprepared to let it pass.
Alongside a gif of Piers that went viral on Good Morning Britain, he hit back: “You left GMB because one of your co-workers called you out.
Your ‘interesting/dangerous’ answer to that is [fingers pointing down to Piers walking off set]. Next time, I promise to spend at least 5 minutes on Thunderbirds. “
Dan’s fans seem to appreciate his counter-comments and quote the response on his tweet saying he “beat” Piers on the occasion.
However, Piers is far from finished and continues to share his impressive viewing numbers with his followers, showing that his own interview with Mick has racked up more than two million views to date.
