Piers Morgan gave a presenter an uncharacteristically enthusiastic review on Sunday night.
After blowing up Rebel Wilson’s performance at the presentation of the BAFTAs earlier this month, the former Good Morning Britain star was full of praise for Amy Schumer’s opening jokes at the 94th Academy Awards.
Piers – who earlier in the evening urged Hollywood A-listers to donate their goody bags – took to Twitter to offer his verdict on the Oscars host after a particularly shocking joke.
On stage at the Dolby Theatre, Amy, 40, poked fun at former Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio’s tendency to date younger women.
“Leonardo Dicaprio, what can I even say about him?” The first Oscar host in three years began.

“He has done so much to fight climate change and leave his friends a cleaner, greener planet.”
Many in the celebrity-filled audience gasped at the cheeky joke – including Leo’s Don’t Look Up co-star Timothee Chalamet.
Watching at home, Sender Piers clearly enjoyed the stand-up comedian’s bold jibe at the Hollywood icon.
Citing a transcript of Amy’s joke, the father of four quipped: “[laughing face emojis] I’ve been enjoying Ms. Schumer’s wasp language so far… #Oscars.”
Many agreed with the star, with one follower replying, “You could have kept her going for 10 more minutes, she did well!”
It’s not the first time Oscar winner Leo has been the butt of a joke at an awards show.
At the BAFTAs earlier this month, host Rebel addressed 20-year-old CODA actress Emilia Jones and quipped, “I’ll give you the award for the person in the crowd who would find Leonardo DiCaprio most attractive… He likes her young.”
Many of Piers’ followers also pointed out that five-time Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais has also attacked the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor’s love for younger women over the years.
Earlier in the evening, the former Good Morning Britain host suggested that those on stage tonight raffle their $140,000 gift bags to help refugees currently fleeing the crisis in Ukraine.
Nominees and presenters at this year’s annual awards ceremony are presented with some incredible freebies – including the controversial addition of a piece of Scottish land.
The plots, which cost £150 per 100 square feet, also come with permission to use the title ‘Laird’ or ‘Lady of Glencoe’ and celebrities can visit whenever they like.
Piers took to Twitter hours before Sunday night’s awards ceremony began to reflect that instead of “virtuous tearful speeches,” Hollywood A-listers should be auctioning off their “disgustingly ostentatious” goodie bags to help amid the humanitarian crisis.
The broadcaster tweeted to its 7.9 million followers and suggested, “Rather than making virtuous, tearful speeches tonight about how much they care for Ukraine, maybe it would be nice if all the Oscar presenters and nominees shared their disgusting.” $140,000 worth of swanky gift bags to raise funds for Ukraine refugees.”
