Katherine Ryan has been revealed as the character Pigeon on ITV’s reality singing competition The Masked Singer.

He, the 39-year-old comedian and actor, finished in second place on Saturday night’s show alongside Jacket Potato, following a studio audience vote.

Following her revelation, Ryan explained that she has kept her participation in the show a secret from her daughter Violet, saying, “You can’t tell my daughter anything because of her would reveal it to the whole school so she would find out. with everyone else. We watch the show together.”

Earlier in the episode, Ryan performed Cheryl Cole’s Fight For This Love and upon revealing she said, “I love Cheryl and I used to do a bit of comedy in my play about her. “

She added jokingly, “So I felt like it was a beautiful karmic grace that I performed her song.”

Ryan received further praise from the judges – which included Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Rita Ora – after sharing that she was heavily pregnant during her performance.

After host Joel Dommett commented, “You’re very pregnant right now,” Ryan, who has since welcomed his third child, replied, “I’m only a month away, almost. I have baby feet in my lungs all the time. It was actually harder than I thought.”

After playing a celebrity guessing game for a while, Ryan admits she loves her Pigeon character because “she’s a sassy old lady. An East End bird. A real transplant. And the important thing is, a hip hop fan can break out.”

During the competition, Ryan used his cockney accent to try to fool the judges further.

Explaining the reason for choosing to dress up as a Dove, Ryan said: “I was pregnant for quite a while while filming and I thought the big pigeon suit would cover that.

“For me, it’s important that characters have faces because some of them don’t, but personally I connect better with characters with faces.
