Greece: A fight breaks out on a Wizz Air flight from the UK
A British passenger is said to have punched a Wizz Air pilot who came to break up a brawl as chaos broke out as a flight from Gatwick arrived in Crete.
The pilot was trying to reassure a man who had been told he would be taken away by police for his bad behavior on board when he was struck Tuesday night.
Two men, believed to be in their 30s and from Bermondsey, south London, had behaved aggressively on the flight and boasted about how much they had been drinking, the authorities said Daily Star.
And the situation boiled over when one of the passengers was told he would be escorted off the plane.
After the pilot tried to calm the man down, he and his friends attacked him.

Dramatic video footage shows the moment two thugs attack the pilot while other passengers, including children, scream in fear.
Another passenger, a 37-year-old woman, recounted punches being thrown.
“It was complete and utter chaos,” she said The sun.
“It started and he was only hitting when a group of guys tried to hold him back.

“The pilot came out and the guy hit him. He seemed okay, but was understandably quite shaken. It was shameful.”
Another eyewitness claimed the men abused everyone on board and boasted that they had been drinking since 10am before starting to smoke on the flight.
A Wizz Air spokesman reportedly said: “On Wizz Air flight W95741 from Gatwick to Chania, a passenger became unruly.
“The cabin crew handled the situation as learned and reported the incident to the relevant authorities who arrested the passenger upon arrival.

“Wizz Air confirms that the crew has been asked to go to the airport police station to file the case. By this time the crew had legally reached their duty time limit and needed time to rest before flying back to Gatwick.
“Unfortunately, this meant that flight W95742 from Chania – Gatwick had to be rescheduled. The flight departed at 4:10 p.m. local time.
“Wizz Air sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused, but passenger and crew safety is the airline’s top priority.”
The Mirror has reached out to Wizz Air for comment.
