A helicopter crashed trying to land at Goodwood Aerodrome.

The Cabri G2 two-seater chopper crashed at Chichester airfield just before noon yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the airport confirmed that the plane was involved in a “landing accident”.

The airport’s fire brigade dealt with the incident “quickly” with a “well-established emergency plan”.

The helicopter had one occupant on board, who evacuated the plane unharmed.

The incident comes just over a year after two men were killed after their plane crashed north of the airfield.
