PlanetSide 2 adds new Imperial Rifles and celebrates 19 years of the PlanetSide franchise with Double XP

Planet side 2 celebrates the 19th anniversary of planetside Franchise with the latest legacy update and a bunch of bonuses. The update also adds new Imperial weapons and adjusts the spawn rules a bit, probably temporarily as they investigate performance issues.

The original planetside was released on May 20, 2003 and the start of the war in Auraxis. The celebrations kick off with a Double Experience event from May 18th to May 26th, where all players will receive Double XP. Members will also receive additional double XP days from May 27th to May 29th. You can also get a couple of free gifts, the NS-11C and the NS Harrower, with the code LEGACY2022.

New Imperial Anti-Material Rifles have been added with this update. The Terran Republic gets DAGR-81, a way to quickly counteract widespread resistance. Vanu Sovereignty gains the VX4-3 Slicer, which fires a plasma blade good for slicing through organic materials and slamming armor. The New Conglomerate gains the LA60 Masthead, a balanced rifle that could prevent the possibility of repairing MAX units and deployable infantry units.

In the depot you can relive history planetside with a special Legacy Bundle available for sale, featuring a six-month experience boost, new cosmetic versions of some classic weapons, three “perfect” exceptional implants that can be used account-wide, and more.

The main navigation menu has also received a bit of a polish based on player feedback. You’ll notice that some of the menu options are in different places, currencies aren’t visible in the upper-right area without having to use a drop-down menu, and if you click the logout button you’re prompted to return to the character select screen or close and exit.

That Planet side 2 The team also made some spawn changes that will likely be temporary as they continue to collect data and investigate general performance issues. Expected that legacy spawn rules will be back for a while (like they were after theOshur) and all valid hard spawns appear at the same time, reducing the load on the servers.
