Update 4/12 4:58pm PT: PlayStation Network is secured according to the official network status page.
PlayStation’s official PSN status page now lists all online services as active. Now, when you log into PSN on your PlayStation device, you should be able to use online services.
PlayStation hasn’t confirmed the temporary outage, which lasted a little under an hour.
PlayStation Network is currently unavailable.
Reports from PlayStation owners online as well as on the PlayStation status page indicate that PSN is currently experiencing some technical difficulties.
As shown on IGN sister site DownDetector, as of 4pm PT there have been over 13,000 reports of an outage involving PSN.
According to PlayStation Network’s official status tracker, all services from account management to online gaming, PlayStation Now and the PSN Store are experiencing issues.
There’s no official word yet on exactly why the outage is occurring or how long it will take for services to return to normal. So keep an eye on IGN as we’ll update this story when services resume or there’s an official announcement.
