PlayStation VR2: Get a First Look at the New Headset

Sony has given its first look at PlayStation VR2 headset, designed to match the look and feel of the basic PS5.

Disclosure on PlayStation blogs, Sony’s senior vice president of platform experiences, Hideaki Nishino explained that the PSVR 2’s look and feel was inspired by the curved, white, and black interface of the PS5 and its other peripherals, but itself The headset is designed to match the “orb” look of the Previously revealed Sense VR controller – itself has been updated to match the PS5 color scheme.

Nishino went into more specifics, saying that the key to the design is immersion, “to the point where you almost forget you’re using a headset or a controller.” The VR2 retains the balanced weight and adjustable headband, but adds a lens dial, the headset is slimmer, and the weight is reduced.

The headset will also include a vent to allow airflow and prevent lens fogging. Equal previously announced, the headset will also include a motor to provide rumbling feedback. The tuning range and headphone jack will remain in the same positions as on the original PSVR.
