Paul Ludlow, President of P&O Cruises, said at the time: “We are sailing again and that is certainly cause for celebration. Sunday is an important milestone as we have all six ships back online and doing what we do best.

“We are delighted to welcome Arcadia back to the fleet. This ship is very popular with our loyal cruisers and I know the Captain and team on board can’t wait to sail the amazing itineraries we have planned for this year.

“Britannia and Azura have had a very successful season in the Caribbean from Barbados and will spend the summer in the Mediterranean. Iona has spent her early winter months in the Canary Islands and Northern Europe and will soon be heading to the spectacular Norwegian fjords for a summer full of scenic cruises and exciting adventures.

“It is evident that our guests are reassured by the measures we have taken to protect their health and well-being and that they are excited to be back on board and rekindling their passion for travel. We’ve all missed the simple pleasures of the great restaurants, beaches and city attractions for so long, which now make the holiday experience even better.”
