The pandemic has brought with it a spate of now-defunct parenting podcasts — their talk of kindergarten class bubbles, online schooling and Joe Wicks workouts already feeling more like time capsules. Here are a few exceptions to the rule, including a longtime veteran and a new addition.
The extremely successful Dirty mummies is hosted by comics Helen Thorn and Ellie Gibson. Her candid quips, celebrity interviews, and expert advice went from a podcast started in 2013 to an on-stage talk show.
Leaving no stone unturned, the two share their own often unfortunate, hilarious family and relationship experiences amongst themselves alongside a wide community of guests.

Co-hosted by Adrian Barry, Nathan Murphy, Dave McIntyre and Ger Gilory, Dadcast: Parenting misadventures was born in the fall of 2018 and ended in February 2022. The grand finale was marked by the arrival of a newborn and a vasectomy.
Season 2 inevitably contains pandemic-specific content—which some listeners might be reluctant to revisit any time soon—but it’s still peppered with evergreen themes: the ins and outs of busy parents planning sex, toddler tantrums, parent-teacher meetings and the best, titled “If a kid poops in public and no one’s there to see, is it really happening?”
