The Donegal player purchased his winning €1million Quick Pick ticket from the Burnfoot Service Station in Grianan Vale, Burnfoot, Co. Donegal on the day of the draw.

Shopkeeper Mary Tourish has run the local family shop since 2007 and was shocked when she received a call that her shop had sold the winning ticket.

She said: “To be honest I’m still shaking, I just can’t believe it.

“To believe that one of our customers is around 1 million euros richer is simply unreal!

“You start thinking about what such a crowd can do for people and I mean it would really change your life.

“We are the main business in a very small village, I mean you couldn’t be more local if you tried.

“Because we’re so small you would never really believe that we would sell one of the big winning tickets, you would imagine it would be one of the bigger stores so it’s just fantastic for us, it means everything.

“January and February can be a really tough time for retailers but something like this creates such excitement and gives us a real boost.

“I won’t sleep a wink for the next few days, I’m totally buzzing!”

The Meath player bought his winning €1 million Quick Pick ticket in Centra in the small village of Nobber, Co. Meath.

Rodney Dolan, owner of the store, said: “What a call to come on a bank holiday, it’s just brilliant news.”

“I really hope it’s someone local, this is wild money to win locally.

“We don’t normally get calls like this! I have been running the shop for 15 years and we are a busy hub in the community employing 21 people from the village.

“I’m looking forward to the many customers checking their tickets over the next few days and the big question will of course be who won?

“We wish them the best of luck and hope Nobber has a new local millionaire!”

The National Lottery has confirmed that they are still waiting to be contacted by the three winners of the €1 million prize from last Friday night’s EuroMillions draw.

The Irish winning codes in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw were: I-NTZ-21276 (Online Dublin), I-NVD-35065 (Donegal) and I-NVF-65558 (Meath).
