Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Finally Added Colosseum Mode

Pokémon Shining Diamonds and Shining Pearls added the long-awaited Arena Mode, allowing players to battle each other in a variety of ways.
Nintendo has been teasing the addition of this mode since Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launched in November, but didn’t say when it would arrive. The 1.20 latest patch notes for the game announced that Colosseum Mode is finally here in the game, along with several other focused online updates.
Players can now access the second floor of the Pokémon Center to battle online or locally with other trainers in Singles, Doubles, or Multiplayers, and apply custom rules for fight.
Colosseum mode has been a staple in the Pokémon games are from Gold and silveralthough Multi Battles, essentially two on two battles, is a more recent addition.
Custom rules allow players to change the number of Pokémon used, apply level caps, ban “special” Pokémon, and don’t allow duplicate Pokémon and items.
The Alliance Chamber functions have also been expanded, now allowing eight players (instead of two at launch) to trade and battle online or locally.
Developer Game Freak has also added a blocker that prevents Pokémon purchased through “unintended or illegal modification” from being used online or traded. Vaguely, it also says that Version 1.2.0 “fixed some issues for more pleasant gameplay”.
IGN says Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are “awesome”for games “solid and enduring – leaning on the past, with all its triumphs and three steps.”
