Pokémon Go: What are the best counters for Giovanni?

Persian

Since Persian mainly uses Normal or Dark-type attacks, Fighting-types are a good counter against it.

However, there’s a small chance there’s Play Rough, so you might want to bring a dual-type that resists Fairy, such as Lukeor Buzz.

You should still make sure they have Fighting-type attacks to take down the Persian quickly.

monastery

Cloyster only has Water and Ice-type attacks, meaning Fighting-type attacks are still the best to use.

Luke stay strong here, and electric attacks will also work, so something like Raiko is a good backup.

Nidoking

Nidoking has an annoyingly wide movepool that can make him difficult to take down.

Ground types here have you covered for every eventuality while dealing super effective damage.

flooded however, is one of the best counters for it mamoswine is also strong when Nidoking doesn’t have a double kick.

Garchomp

Despite being a strong Pokemon, Garchomp is hampered by having mostly dragon and ground attacks.

Thankfully, it’s also very weak against Ice-type attacks, so a strong Pokemon like Weavile or Articuno will work fine here.

register steel

Registeel has mostly Steel and Fighting-type attacks, and Fighting-types are a very strong counter against it.

Luke And Macchamp are both good counters, but be careful with Lucario when Registeel is carrying Fire Blast.
