Pokemon Go’s Next Season Legacy Event Focuses on Rock and Steel Pokemon

Mountains of Power is part two of the Seasons of Heritage event in Pokemon Go, and begins Friday, January 7 and runs through Thursday, January 13.

In the meantime, Season of Heritage Story continues with Team Leader Spark, who believes that the mysterious door encountered in season one requires the help of Stone and Steel-type Pokemon to unlock it.

Pokemon from the regions of Johto and Sinnoh will be given priority during this time such as Zubat, Machop, Nosepass, Barboach, and Geodude. And a shiny Slugma will appear for the first time, so if you’re lucky you might catch one. If you’re lucky, you might also come across shiny Onix and Ferroseed.

The event reward during this time is 1/2 walk to earn hearts with your friends.

The event will also feature Timed Research focusing on catching Pokemon, hatching eggs, and earning Buddy Candy. If you complete quests, you’ll earn encounters with Pokemon like Mawile and Beldum.

A new Pokemon spin will appear in raids, and for the first time in Pokemon Go, Mega Aerodactyl will be available in Mega Raids.

With raids, you can expect a star that includes Alolan Geodude, Onix, Beldum, and Bronzor. The three star raids will feature Ursaring, Donphan, Medicham and Absol. Five-star raid will feature Heatran.

Spark will also provide rewards for reaching milestones. Here is the reward:

  • Total 6,000 XP – 1 × Lure . Module
  • Total 15,000 XP – Cranidos
  • Total 25,000 XP – 15 × Razz Berry
  • Total 350,000 XP – 25 × Poke Balls
  • Total 47,500 XP – Porygon
  • Total 60,000 XP – 20 × Big Ball
  • 70,000 Total XP – 15 × Pinap Berries
  • Total 90,000 XP – Shedinja
  • Total 110,000 XP – 25x Ultra Balls
  • Total 130,000 XP – Energy
  • Total 150,000 XP – 3 × Golden Razz Berry
  • Total 175,000 XP – Goomy
  • Total 200,000 XP – 2,500 Stardust
  • Total 240,000 XP – 1 × Star Shards
