Pokémon Legends Arceus: Every starter Pokémon is ranked From Worst to Best

Rowlett’s unique dual-style setup and strong base stats mean they’re capable of dealing with many early threats and will almost always be a part of your party even late game. . They also reach their final form faster than any other form of initiation, which is extremely useful when you consider that their final form is surprisingly strong compared to other starting forms.

Although you certainly won’t have any trouble finding other grass-type Pokémon in Arceus‘early game, it’s not like you can really “replace” Rowlett so soon.

Rowlett vs Oshawott vs. Cyndaquil: Who is the best starter Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

While Pokémon the game often hides the “difficulty level” behind your initial selection of Pokémon (i.e. the game can be easier or harder depending on which one you choose), that’s not necessarily the case with Arceus. We’ll talk about some of the advantages and disadvantages that come with picking certain Pokémon here, but you probably won’t find yourself wishing you picked some other Pokémon because you hit a wall. which you can just do ‘don’t pass with your selection. In that case, it makes perfect sense to pick a starter Pokémon for whatever reason you want (even if that reason is “they look great”).

Having said that, your starter Pokémon will affect Arceus‘early game in some notable ways.

While Arceus Without gym leaders, you’ll encounter several boss-like Noble Pokémon with their own types. Technically, Oshawott has a type advantage over many of the first pure Pokémon, while Cyndaquil offers less of an advantage and Rowlett doesn’t. Again, though, you’ll have an exhaustive list of Pokémon to work with, and there won’t be any early game challenges that are so difficult that you’ll end up making things significantly harder on your own just because you choose one Pokémon over the other. There’s also no rival coach to worry about this time around.

If you’re looking to skim through the beginning of the game, I’d say Oshawott is probably the starter Pokémon for you. Their base stats are weaker, but they offer a distinct type advantage against many early game threats. However, they scale slightly late in the game, especially if you depend on them to be your main water-type Pokémon.
