The Pokemon Company has announced an air date for its upcoming anime web series based on the recently released game Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Originally announced as part of the company’s Pokémon Day celebrations, the series will air on Pokémon TV and the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

You’d be forgiven for missing a lot of the latest Pokémon Presents announcements after The Pokémon Company wrapped up their presentation with the reveal of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But today, the official Pokémon Twitter reminded us that the show is coming and will be here May 18th. Not a very wintry time of year here in the UK, mind you, but we’re always bringing new Pokémon content with us.

The new advertising art looks like the steps of a beautiful manga-style book, with boxes and muted colors. It’s beautiful and totally in line with the visual inspirations of Legends: Arceus. The web series is called up Pokémon: Hisuian Snow and will be broadcast on 1pm UTC (Thanks Serebii!).

The animation is created in collaboration with Wit Studio, which rose to fame after working on the first three seasons of attack on Titan. It has also worked with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company in the past, producing the short film Star Fox Zero Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins as well as working on the 2018 Pokémon film The power of us.

The show will feature an original storyline set in the ancient lands of Hisui, starring a boy named Alec and his new companion Hisuian Zorua. It seems to focus on one of the main themes of the game – that Pokémon and humans can actually live together in harmony.

We pulled the show synopsis from the official Pokemon site:

Get ready for a new adventure in the vast, breathtaking Hisui region. Pokémon: Hisuian Snow, produced by WIT STUDIO, launches May 18 with the first episode of a three-part limited animated series. Available on Pokémon TV and the official Pokémon YouTube channel, Pokémon: Hisuian Snow tells the story of a boy named Alec and his encounter with a Hisuian Zorua. When he was younger, Alec’s father taught him that humans and Pokémon cannot live together. But Alec’s interactions with the Zorua might offer a different lesson.

Watch the first episode of Pokémon: Snow of Hisuian on Pokémon TV or the official Pokémon YouTube channel starting May 18. Visit for more details on upcoming episodes.
