Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: What is the difference between Tatsugiri forms?

TATSUGIRI is a new Pokemon introduced in Scarlet and Violet with an interesting ability.
While rather unimpressive on its own, it is an interesting doubles partner that can offer great synergies.
However, there are also three forms, making it difficult to choose the right one.
Here’s everything you need to know about Tatsugiri in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: What ability does Tatsugiri have?
Tatsugiri has the interesting Commander ability.
This is a signature ability where when paired with Dondozo in doubles, Dondozo eats Tatsugiri and increases all stats by 100%.

While in Dodonzo, the Tatsugiri cannot be harmed and will not be released until Dondozo dies.
This means spread moves that damage both opponents in double battles deal 25% less damage to Dondozo.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: What is the difference between Tatsugiri forms?
Tatsugiri forms have the same stats and only matter in double battles with Dondozo.
There are three forms, Curly form which is orange; Droopy form that is pink; and Stretchy Form, which is yellow.
When Tatsugiri is in Dondozo, there are different stat boosts for the Order Up move depending on its form.
Order Up is a Dragon-type physical attack with 80 power that Dondozo learns at level 50.
Curly Form gives an attack boost, Droopy Form gives a defense boost, and Stretchy Form gives a speed boost.
You’ll probably want to use Curly Form since Dondozo is a physical attacker.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: How to use Tatsugiri in competitive play?
The most common way to use Tatsugiri Curly Form in competitive play is to combine it with Dondozo.
Equip Tatsugiri with the Toxic Orb, which will severely poison him in the first combat turn.
Then use Order Up to boost Dodonzo’s attack until Tatsugiri dies.
After that, you can send in a second Pokemon, but Dondozo keeps all of its stat boosts.
Flamigo is often used with the Costar ability, as it copies Dodonzo’s stat changes and makes it at least twice as powerful.
Be careful though as these boosts can be erased by Haze and Mukrow is popular for this reason with Evolite, the Prankster ability and the Tailwind and Haze moves.
Prankster lets Haze go first and clears the stat boosts, and Evolite buffs Murkrow’s Defense, making her difficult to take down.
