Police appeal after reporting a rape in Pavilion Gardens, Brighton
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman is said to have been raped downtown.
The woman, in her mid-30s, is being assisted by specialized officers during the investigation.
Officers want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious around Pavilion Gardens between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon said: “This report is currently the subject of a full and thorough investigation and the victim, whom I would like to thank for coming forward, has our full support.
“We understand that incidents like these can be of concern to the public. Therefore, as part of our continued work to keep people safe, expect a visible police presence around Pavilion Gardens and in Brighton city centre.
“If you can provide any information that may assist our investigation, please contact police online or via 101 and quote serial number 828 dated March 11.”
