Police are appealing for witnesses to the Hastings attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in a downtown area.

The man was walking down Havelock Road in Hastings when he encountered an altercation between a woman and two men.

He stepped in to help but was himself attacked.

The incident occurred between Flames Grill and Crowleys Bar anytime between 11pm on Thursday 29th September and 12.30am on Friday 30th September.

Anyone who saw what happened or has other information about the attack is asked to contact them online or by calling 101 quoting serial number 138 dated 09/30. to contact the police.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the police through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
