Police were called after an easyJet passenger refused to switch off his phone as the plane came in to land.

The man on the flight from Manchester to Cornwall Newquay Airport became rude and abusive to cabin crew, who asked him to turn off his phone

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed this living in Cornwall They were called to the airport at 4:00 p.m. yesterday after the landing incident was reported to them.

The incident meant the return flight to Manchester – EZY324 – was delayed by more than an hour while police attended to the passenger in question.

Most aviation authorities require phones to be turned off on flights as they can interfere with signals on the plane or on the ground.

Over the years, some crew members have noticed that when a passenger turns on their phone, there will be a loss of signal in the cockpit or some instruments will malfunction.

There were rumors that a bachelorette party was responsible for the riot, but police have not confirmed the information. It is not known whether the perpetrator was drunk.

A police spokesman said: “There was an incident at Newquay Airport this afternoon.

“A passenger was talking on his mobile phone during landing.

“When the cabin crew asked him to shut down, as is customary on landing and takeoff, he refused and became very abusive to the staff.”

The spokesman said that while the man was approached after the plane landed, no arrests were made.
