We’re all collectors here at Nintendo Life, and we’re always on the lookout for unusual finds, exclusive games made in Japan, awesome box designs exclusive to the region, and all sorts of weird and wonderful merchandise. However, this weekend we stumbled upon something we just can’t find any reliable information about, so we need your help!

This boxed version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess looks like an unfinished version of the final graphics for the full game. The components of the key art are all there – namely the diagonal color split and the triforce in the middle – but without the faces of Link or Wolf Link there, or the saturated yellow where the white is on the box.

It looks like it will be a PAL only box, maybe something that came in a bundle with the Wii Zapper and Link’s Crossbow Training, maybe or maybe even a press copy that made its way into the world. The case itself is high quality, definitely nothing that is hastily printed at the lowest A4 size and slipped into the case by a thrift store.

We’ve tried all our usual avenues and explored all the internet dungeons to try and guess its origins, but to no avail – it’s a mystery any Zelda game would be proud of. Honestly, we need a heart or two!

So we turn to you! Let us know below if you’ve spotted this in the wild – or if you own this version – and drop us a comment if you have anything on this potentially rare find.
