The Eighth Day singer was found at her home on January 9, admitted to the hospital and in a coma after doctors discovered she had a brain bleed.
Sharing a post on his social media, Neil said: “This is an important announcement about my beloved sister, Singer, Musician and Actress, Hazel O’Connor.
“This past Sunday, January 1, 2022, Hazel was discovered at her residence in SW France and is believed to have undergone a serious medical event.
“She was taken to a local hospital, where it was determined that she had suffered a brain bleed and she should be transferred to a large hospital where her condition could be monitored more effectively.
“On Sunday it all comes together and the next 24 hours will determine how resilient she is.
“She was in a coma for about 24 hours and was brought out of it on Monday night and has since shown a lot of progress although, say, her recovery will take some time but she is very tough and responsive to stimulation and therapy.
