Port Vale’s Connor Hall cleared the metal as he defended a Salford free kick.

And the incredible photos show one side of the goal having curved back on its own.

Groundstaff rushed frantically to get the vertical pole back into shape.

But in the end they were forced to call in a tractor to save the day.

A rope is attached to one end of the machine, the other end is wrapped around the goal post.

And after some struggle, the tractor managed to bring the target’s mouth back into perfect shape.

Fans cheered as the game resumed, with some extra time extended to make up for the break.

But Port Vale’s efforts were soon forgotten in the second half when Tom Elliott gave Salford the lead in the 50th minute.

And despite great efforts, Vale still could not find the equalizer when the match ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of the away team.

The result means Port Vale remains ninth in the League Two standings, just one point above Salford.

However, Vale still have two games left against their rivals and could qualify for the playoffs if they win both.
