Premier League trophy brought to Brighton for anniversary

KIDS had a chance to see the Premier League trophy as it passed during a nationwide tour to mark its 30th anniversary.

The trophy was brought to Albion at Community Summer Camp (AITC) at Dorothy Stringer School on Loder Road, Brighton.

Although not to celebrate a future Premier League title win, the trophy was displayed at the Amex Stadium in Falmer.

The trophy visit also coincided with the 25th year of the AITC Disability Program.

Former Albion players Guy Butters, Andrew Crofts and Gary Dicker provided a tour of the stadium and other activities for some of the participants in the charity’s disability programme.

Children at summer camp at Dorothy Stringer were able to have their picture taken with the trophy and also had a question and answer section where they learned facts about the trophy.

The trophy arrived in Sussex on Tuesday 30th August. It was also presented at the stadium by Lewes FC, The Dripping Pan.

AITC Board of Trustees Chairman Martin Perry attended the Amex visit and presented Dan Coppard with the Premier League Community Captain Award, an honor presented to an individual at each PL Trophy Tour stop to recognize their commitment to their charities .

Dan serves on the AITC amputee team in the national league and is a community coach for AITC at its disability soccer sessions.

Dan said, “I started as a player eight years ago, then to be given the opportunity to become a coach at AITC and to get to where I am now has been absolutely fantastic.” Premier League trophy brought to Brighton for anniversary
