Prepare for a beautiful journey with a new season: Story trailer for a letter to the future

Developer Scavengers Studio announced last month that Season: A Letter To The Future would be releasing on January 31st, and now, just weeks before, the studio has released a gorgeous new story trailer.

This new trailer offers another beautiful glimpse into the picturesque world of Season and provides new details about what our protagonist is doing: archiving the end of the earth and the last people who live on it. She strives to capture her final moments in her journal and with her camera to find out why they are still around and what ultimately made her move on. It sounds like quite an emotional journey.

As you can see, Season may be shaping up to be something special. Luckily we don’t have to wait too long to find out, because it’s coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on January 31st.

For the uninitiated, Season is about the young woman from the trailer above who, for the first time in her life, leaves her remote village to explore the world by bicycle. Your goal is to collect memories of this world before a massive catastrophe that will destroy everything.

The trailer above reveals three new characters, and Scavengers Studios has provided some additional details about them:

• cookinga little boy, takes you for a bike ride through a valley the day before the flood.
• maytora, an outsider, documents the history of the valley through her sculptures. You are the only witness to her final play.
• easel is the last monk of the Tieng Valley. Left behind by his teachers and friends, Easel awaits the change of season in isolation, with nothing to pray for until your arrival.

“This project would not exist without the series of wondrous people who make up our team, who lifted us up and poured their absolute soul into the game,” write the game’s Creative Director Kevin Sullivan and Executive Producer Margherita Siconnino in a joint statement. “We are deeply grateful to them and excited for players to encounter stories and memories from the warmly fading world of Season. Now it’s time to rest, time to call home.”
